Coffee

by Ginafish

Why is coffee one of those things where everyone thinks their opinion is of the utmost importance? A good pot of coffee needs an exact water to bean ratio, the beans have to be fresh ground, french pressed, from Honduras, etc… The water has to be distilled, nursery water, spring water, has to reach 160 degrees, etc… Must be served in a carafe, must be consumed within 30 minutes or a new pot must be brewed.

Coffee is one of those weird things where if you live in Canada you have an opinion, if you live in Venezula, you have an opinion, if you live in hillbilly country of Arkansas, you have an opinion.

Now to me, coffee is much like wine and cheese. I don’t care what some “expert” says, I’m either going to like it or I’m not. And I’m pretty sure there isn’t any expert out there who would not shriek with disgust once I got my favorite cup of joe ready to drink.

I like my folgers half caff just fine thank you. Brewed a little on the stout side. In a regular coffee pot, and yes, I’ll drink it all the way to hour three on the burner. Add two heaping spoons of powdered creamer, add  either two spoons of sugar or one nifty sacchrin tablet, and a heaping spoon of Choco Milk. The end result? My perfect cup of coffee for me. :)

The whole perfect coffee myth is just that,  you see.  Just like the myth of a perfect glass of wine, the perfect date, the perfect sunset, the perfect weather, it’s all subjective. Thank goodness we are all individuals so we can all appreciate different aspects of God’s beauty around us.

How do you like your coffee? :)
