Update #465
by GinafishI finally had my first job offer. Yeehaw! But I had to turn it down. Boohoo! When I applied, I knew it didn’t involve many hours but I didn’t know what the pay was. After I found out what the pay was, I knew I couldn’t take the job but was too chicken to call and pull my name out of the running. So it was a let down when I was offered the job and then had to say no. I have finally also decided to apply to be a substitute teacher. We’ll see how that goes. I’m thinking I could deal with high school kids now that I’m old enough to be their mother. My brother in law told me that it would be hard for the boys in my class though b/c I’m such a hottie. HA! Thanks Todd. ($50 bucks is in the mail)
Update #2
Suzanne had a first last week. As kids get older, the firsts come a lot slower. I’m pretty sure we could have survived waiting another two or ten years on this first. In her words, she “barfed”. Now, if you have a weak stomach, skip the next sentence. If you ever have to deal with kids barf, grape soda and a pound of purple grapes does not make for the worst smelling vomit, but purple is NOT the most fun color to have to clean up. Poor Suzanne, she had a stomach virus and was scared to eat for about three days. And lucky me, Ethan finally caught it on Thursday and had to skip two days of school. That lead to another first for Suzanne, riding the bus without her brother. And no. She didn’t like it at all. Now I’m not going to get sick. No way, no how.
Update #379
I have been really preoccupied with Facebook lately. I think it has a little bit to do with reconnecting with a lot of old friends from my younger days. And then there is a stupid program that has to do with eggs. I log on about twice a day to see if I can find eggs. I have a nice collection of Halloween Easter Eggs. Over the weekend, I expect to sign on to facebook zero times. And maybe next week too.
Update on the world around us
I am so ready for the election to be done and over with. I am tired of the campaign. I’m tired of getting emails from people who think I’m on their side and voting the way they do. Let’s just put it this way. I am not voting for either of the two major political parties, mkay? Neither one fits my values even 90%. The candidate I have selected does fit my values 90% so after the election, I can at least say I voted my conscious. And if there were only two candidates to vote for, most of the email indicates that people don’t know who I’d vote for anyway.
Update in conclusion:
Positive thoughts for my family from around the world would be great. We could always use them. Honestly, right now, searching for a job is a big focus for me, so sorry if I’m forgetful, unattentive to my blog and all that. I’m keeping on, keeping on.

Ok…are you saying that in her whole 5 years she has never “barfed”? You are lucky!
Sorry about the job hunting. Something will come along!
