Branson, day 1
by GinafishIt’s Thursday, and for any of you thieves who read my blog, yep, we aren’t home. But we locked the doors for once. We are currently in Branson, Missouri with our two kids, Josh’s parents, and Ellarose, a two year old bundle of energy.
Although Josh was able to take two straight weeks off from the church, he doesn’t have any vacation time from his other job, so we could only afford for him not to get paid for one week. He put as many hours as he could Monday through Wednesday but since we didn’t know if he would have things he needed to do Thursday, we weren’t sure what time we could leave. Josh’s parents wanted to leave as early as they could, so they volunteered to take E and Suz with them. So two grandparents, and three little ones crammed into carseats.
I petsit for a friend of ours whenever she and her husband go on vacation, and wouldn’t you know it? Their vacation started the same day as ours practically! But luckily, my mom is feeding their zoo until we get back on Sunday.
After finishing with the packing and house cleaning, she and I arranged to meet at a gas station so I could show her the ropes in regards to pet sitting. After that, hubby and I were ready to leave! And without the kiddos! Since they had already left with the grandparents.
But first Lunch! McAlisters! Yum! Now, I intend to do another ‘vacation journal’ similar to last years anniversary one I did with just Josh and I, so I won’t reveal too much here, but my cranberry club on pita with fruit bowl ROCKED!
And then on the way, we actually got to stop at a flea market!! It was like a mini vacation for just Josh and I! We thoroughly enjoyed the flea market, and picked up so many things that we decided 2/3s through the store that we should just leave.
We got lots of video tapes and books, and I picked up some new blue glass!
Once in Branson, and checked in, we went out to eat, just the two of us. Ahh… so nice. And now, it’s almost 8 and I think I hear our family outside making their way into the room next door. Tomorrow?
Silver Dollar City - WooHoo!

I hope you all had a relaxing vacation!
