3rd Annual Helmet Giveaway
by GinafishMany of my regular readers know I am deeply committed to a charity called Isara. It’s headquarters is in Thailand and this morning they did their 3rd Annual Helmet Giveaway.
The income of most Thai’s is such that mopeds are a more affordable means of transportation for their family. So young and old, one person or four at a time, a lot Thai’s ride mopeds. And a lot of them don’t wear helmets. So imagine the number of accidents and deaths. They have more die from moped injuries than A.I.D.S. To support Isara and help them provide helmets for free is so easy that anyone who surfs the internet can do it. All you have to do is change your homepage to isara.org or if you just want a place to host pictures for free use isarapix.org or if you want to write a blog, or play games… etc.. You get the idea. You don’t donate a dime. Sponsors support the charity based on the number of clicks the website receives. Sort of like the ‘feed the hungry’, ’support the whales’ websites.
Anyway, I got up earlier than usually this morning to watch the 3rd Annual Helmet Giveaway that took place at 5 a.m. C.S.T. and 5 p.m. Thai time. How did I watch, you ask? With the webcam of course!
