Dreams!

by Ginafish

January’s theme will be dreams! Since New Year’s is when one typically makes resolutions, then dreams make sense. I don’t necessarily mean what I dreamt of last night, but more along the lines of what do I dream of for the future.

I was inspired by the Friday’s Feast question, if you could have a summer and/or winter home, where would they be.

So let’s begin with that, shall we? If you read my previous post, you’ll see a blue shuttered house with a porch located in Key West, Florida. I’ve never been to Florida, much less Key West, but the idea of living anywhere tropical, on an island especially, appeals to me. The ocean close by, the smell of salt air, palm trees, sand everywhere! One of my favorite physical feelings is to lie down on a large quilt on the sand, feeling the sun heat up every exposed part of your skin, then to feel a cool breeze blow over. *sigh*

So on to the house! The house is also an example of something I could see myself living in.House Not too big, not too small. Naturally, it’s painted blue to match the sky, so my blue glass collection won’t look out of place in the window sills. I also noticed there is no lawn. Right now, we have three acres and that makes for a lot of grass to mow. Too many weekends are spent ignoring our yard, so why not go for a house that doesn’t have a yard! If we want to spend time outside, there is the big porch, or we could walk to the beach. In my dreams, right? :D

Maybe I should set this dream as a goal for after the kids are finished with college. Hubby and I have talked of being ‘Winter Texans’. I know that the Florida Keys are probably always going to be out of our price range, but this dream might be livable if it were a house in Puerto Rico, or along the coast of South America.

Saving the dream of a log cabin for another post, meanwhile, if you’d like to share a dream house, a dream, or what kind of resolutions you made, feel free!
