Happy Birthday Suzanne!

by Ginafish

I can’t believe she’s 4! She woke up early, as usual, at 5 a.m. and began her day by getting upset, again - the same way she wakes up every day. Today she was upset because she knows we are going to Grandma’s house for most of the day, and her toys will miss her.

Rather than try to explain that her toys don’t have feelings, I began by exclaiming, “Oh! There’s my birthday girl! Are you ready for your party??” Then she got upset again when I told her that her party wasn’t at breakfast time, but when Daddy got to Grandma’s house after he finished working.

Our morning starts, me with coffee, her with choco milk, daddy getting off to work, Ethan playing spys. I decide to come and blog, and see what’s happening on the internet today.

Suzanne comes in my room when I’m typing…
Me: “Suzanne, what makes you happy?”

“To go to the zoo. Computers. Being in Ethan’s bedroom. Playing at Grandma Beckie’s and Nana’s. And Leslie’s house. All of my toys. Hugging mommy, daddy, Ethan, kisses, jumping, dancing, music, can we go put on the radio now?? ”

And off she goes to play with Ethan.

I am ready for the next four years, I think.

She’s back. Asking for a cookie for breakfast. As I remember the experiences of the last four years with Suzanne, I decide to get off the computer…I’m ready to see what adventures we’ll have today!
