December already?
by GinafishI can’t believe December’s here. Time has a weird way of moving, doesn’t it? Fast, and slow. Hours can drag on and on, and months disappear. What happened to June? What did I do that month? Anything? I can’t recall…
And before you know it, it’ll be Christmas! I am so proud of myself! I have actually bought a couple of Christmas Gifts! Woohoo! As with any family, there are those that are hard to shop for, and those that are easy.
For me? It’s easy to shop for Ethan. It’s tougher for Suzanne. She’s so fickle! One day, she likes Hello Kitty, then she doesn’t sleep with any stuffed animals for weeks. One day she likes Tom and Jerry…the next day, it’s the impossible to shop for “Upside Down Show”.
Ethan…aw…so much more stable and reliable. If he liked legos three weeks ago, he’s going to like them tomorrow. If he liked playing with magnets yesterday, he’ll like them this afternoon. But I will say, that as Ethan gets older, I anticipate the gifts to be a little more difficult. As in more expensive. He likes scientific stuff, but I’m not going to buy him a microscope before he understands the gentle nature of it. And I can’t bring myself to buy the horribly obvious boy toys either. Like guns. Toy guns. Just can’t do it. Yuck.
If only shopping for my Dad was as easy…think he likes Barbies? no? So it’s underwear or bird feeders again, huh? UGh. And to think, one day, E might be that hard…
