Movie Reviews!
by GinafishI thought it was high time I reviewed a few movies for my enjoyment. 
First:
“Over the Hedge”…now I don’t know what rock I was under, but did you realize this was based on a daily comic strip in the newspaper? Well…pblllltttt…I didn’t. But now I do. 
So this is PG. Parents stay in the room with your kids. You’ll get some laughs to. The orange sonic cloud of chip dust. A classic SUV line. Why is it PG? There wasn’t anything really scary, but hey, according to my kids Great Uncle this movie breaks commandments. Ever heard the one “Thou shalt Not Steal”? Oh yeah, the animals steal. They steal food! Jimminy Crickets! Oh wait…all animals do that. Cartoon ones and real ones. My neighbors have deer in their corn all the time. My sister has a raccoon that eats her cat food. Hmmm… Maybe animals don’t have morals, Uncle G. Oh yeah, and all those Tom and Jerry cartoons my daughter watches? I’m pretty sure she understands…THAT IT’S ONLY A CARTOONNNN!!!!
Okay, deep breath.
Number 2 on the film reviews of the week.
“Cars”. Maybe I don’t have enough testosterone, but I didn’t enjoy it. At all. My son said he liked it, my daughter was bored, and it seemed to be totally geared to adults as far as the story line goes. I hope I never see it again. Please, don’t get this as a Christmas present for my kids. You don’t want them to visit every weekend to see their movie at your house. YAWN!
Those are my two kid movie reviews for the day. I’m tired.
But let me just pass this along. I’m looking forward to this movie. It’s done by Dreamworks and Aardman productions. Aardman is a company in the UK that did “Wallace & Gromit”, “Chicken Run”, “Robbie the Reindeer”. I enjoy the British dry sense of humor and hope some of that comes through in this film. Watch the trailer if you’d like and let me know if you’ll be seeing it.
