Friday Already?
by GinafishI can’t believe it’s already Friday. Being out of the house so much has really cramped my internet time.
Today is the last day of Safety Town. From seeing Ethan drive around it’s becoming obvious that I’m going to have to get really good insurance for him when he starts driving. He likes to tailgate, and then drive to fast around curves and skid off the road. And no, not every kid does that, and no, the ones who do it aren’t just boys. Some of the girls are thrill seekers, and some of the boys are really responsible drivers.
Unfortunately, E wasn’t showing out just when I was there, b/c he’d tell me on the days I wasn’t how he’d skid off the end and hit other ‘cars’. Ugh.
It’s also the last day of 100 degree days for a few days. My air conditioner could use a break. I know it’s working, but it’s working major overtime with the heat index at 115.
Did you hear about St. Louis and the worst storm ever?

It’s a shame.
I can’t imagine how it is to live there right now. No relief anywhere, unless you snuck into a hospital waiting room. And how long can you do that before they figure out you aren’t there to visit anyone? Yes, I know that once upon a time 100 years ago, no one had air conditioners, but since we started installing them, we’ve been figuring out ways to insulate our homes to keep all the cold air in, which means, once they start heating up there is no relief except to open small windows which weren’t designed to really let breezes in anyway. And no one builds there house in the direction of the wind anymore anyway if there is a breeze in St. Louis.
I have to rant a little about St. Louis because I understand heat. I understand no power. What I don’t understand is the Middle East ongoing battles with Israel and Hezebollah, Iran, Syria, all that mess. Israel has been fighting with someone for the last 2000 years. When will it stop? Not next week that’s for sure. And you sure can’t tell a terrorist group like Hezebollah to have a cease fire. They aren’t a recognizable governing body. You can’t put UN sanctions against them. All we can do is watch Lebanon get destroyed. Utterly sad.
Now I’m going to Safety Town to cheer myself up. And I don’t have time to edit or spell check so I apologize if this is really a weird entry.
