Freedom Rings, in some places
by GinafishHappy Independence Day!
Freedom from Great Britain telling us what to do.
But not freedom to do what we want.
This morning, I awoke to find a new member had registered to post a comment on Ginafish. Yippee. Then I read the comment. Aw man, did they have to go there?
When I blog, I sometimes express frustration at people in general, but try not to point fingers specifically. For instance, in my post about customer service frustrations, I moan and groan about frustration with the company, not the individual on the other end of the phone. I don’t know them. They may be a swell person, who has a bad job.
Yesterday, someone took the time to register to post a comment in response to another comment left by a member of Ginafish.com. They felt the need to hide a cuss word, and then directly name call with a cuss word. Including using a cussword in their username. This type of cruelty will not be tolerated on Ginafish.com.
If you want to post a comment in response to another member, and start a dialogue, that’s fine. But I will not tolerate cussing and name calling on my website, any more than I would in my own home.
Your ip address has been noted, if you’d like to register with a neutral name that is fine, if you can make comments that do not contain curse words.
I give thanks for Freedom to say what I want, when I want, to whom I want. I also recognize that words can be sharper than swords, and that I will have to stand behind my words, and be responsible for whatever my words say about my character. With freedom, comes responsiblity. Abuse of freedom results in rights being taken away. Let’s be responsible citizens everywhere.
