A New Years Eve Report:

by Ginafish

To end the year 2005, my husband, myself, and two kids, age 5 and 3, went to enjoy festivities with my sister-in-law, brother-in-law, and nephew. Arriving at 8pm was the signal to our children that this night was different, esp. since ordinarily 8 is the imposed bedtime.

We arrived to a buffet of chex mix, cheese and pepperoni trays, nachos, bbq baby hot dogs, and brownies. And corona, wine, and sparkling grape juice for the kiddies. Yum. nuf said.

We grinned and enjoyed the musical interlude bestowed by the two youngest membersÖwho wanted to sing two blessings. We stuffed ourselves, and played Mexican Train Dominoes till 11:30 p.m. And much to my enjoyment, cringe, giddiness, and shame, I drank a half a bottle of wine, and got darn right tipsy for the first time in 6 years. And I enjoyed every minute of it. And yes, we made it home safely at 12:10 a.m. on January 1, 2006. Then 6 hours later, woke up to get ready for church and a weekend of camping at Toad Suck Lock and Dam.

Happy New Year from Ginafish and family.
